Cigar Colors

Cigars are classified by the color of the wrapper. There are 7 used wrapper colors (like a human skin tones). Just like there are number of cigar sizes you can choose from. The color can be from light green to dark brown (almost black).Wrappers are holding the filler within a cigar, and also telling the story about every cigar!  If the color is lighter – the taste is drier.
The darker wrapper has a higher sugar concentration and the taste is sweeter
and fuller-bodied (more coarse in texture). In the green leaves there is not a
lot of oil and sugar. Fermentation is a reason why there are a different color and taste of the wrappers and the quantity of fermentation depends on the thickness of the leaf (if there is a more fermentation – cigar will be
darker). The thickness of the leaves depends on how much sun lights a leaf gets (more sun –the leaf is ticker).
All in all the color depends on in which way a leaf is processed and on the curing processes (sun exposure).
Double Claro (Candela, Jado) is a light green, green. It has a very mild flavor and a sweet taste. This is because the quick-drying process and than - the chlorophyll is still on the leaf. These wrappers are not fermented.
These cigars were extremely popular in the U.S. during the middle of the 20st.
Century (American Market Selection).
Claro – shade-grown (under shade tents), very light brown. The leaves are picked early and then air-dried.
In this cigar the flavor of tobacco is dominating the taste of cigar .The
flavor is a mild, neutral and a smoke is smooth.
Natural- This wrapper is brown (light, medium) and this
leaves are growing in the sun. Smoke is a smooth with a fuller bodied flavor.
Colorado
Claro – light brown (reddish tint).

History of cigars

When we want to talk about the history of cigars - we have to start with Christopher Columbus - who discovered a tobacco in 1492. In his notes he has written that the native Arawaks are inhaling a burnt leaves through a tube. That land was the Dominican Republic. In the North America natives exploited tobacco for medicine invents, and in some religious rituals too. In Europe tobacco arrived at the 16th century, first in Spain and after that – all around the world. The best quality tobacco today is growing in the same regions – where Columbus saw it for the first time, in Dominican Republic. There are also almost 120 countries today where we can find the lands of tobacco.
Jamestown, Virginia - was the first place where tobacco was crop grown for money. James Bonsak invented the cigarette-rolling machine in 1881. This machine speed increased from 2,000 a day to 120,000 a day. In the 18th century – tobacco which came from North Caroline to Europe was used for pipe smoking and snuff, because in Europe none knows almost anything about Cigars. In the 19’Th century - cigars become very popular. They are now manufactured all around the world and they become a major factor in the tobacco industry. Today, there are so many famous cigar manufactures in the world, and brands that can be purchased online on places like this website. Some of them are Cohiba, Montecristo,Partagas, Macanudo, Romeo y Julieta,if you are looking to buy cigars online dont miss these brands!
